Super Silverlinks volunteer Ken receives “Unsung Hero” recognition

We are delighted that one of our Silverlinks volunteers in Leeds, Ken, was nominated for the Foundations “Unsung Hero” award by Care & Repair Leeds earlier this year and has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition.  Here’s a picture of Ken receiving his certificate.

Ken really is a hero and has supported many older people through Silverlinks, who are facing decisions about their housing.  He always goes the extra mile to help people such as giving other volunteers lifts and taking the older people he is supporting to look around sheltered housing that they are interested in, and finding out specific information that he can pass on.    He also featured in the excellent piece written by the Yorkshire Post earlier this year.  You can read the article again by clicking here .

Well done Ken and thank you for your fantastic contribution.
